Evergreen is a recognized leader in tank cleaning services. Our experience spans the complete project life-cycle and is supported through an extensive offering of tank cleaning capabilities – from extensive project planning and engineering to centrifuge setup, robotic sludge removal, solid waste management, transportation, degassing and vapor recovery. In order to maximize the value of our tank cleaning services for a facility owner, our turnkey solution focuses on minimizing project costs, downtime, risk, and residual waste.
A UNIQUE RESOURCE
Evergreen efficiently handles small, routine jobs as well as complex, high-volume projects in tanks over 300 feet in diameter. Our experience encompasses every tank design and type of material: crude, finished products, petrochemical feedstock, black oil, asphalt, waste water, sour water, and more. Evergreen is the preferred provider in the industry for the most difficult and complex tank cleaning projects, and are often engaged to finish projects where other tank cleaning service providers have failed. Our experience also includes:
High sludge levels
Limited access to material
Strict requirements for recovered projects
Hazards such as benzene, volatile hydrocarbons, hydrogen sulfide and radioactive sludge
Evergreen has a large, dedicated division focused exclusively on providing tank cleaning solutions. Our professionals are highly trained, experienced and focused only on tank cleaning and waste minimization. As a result, Evergreen delivers a higher level of responsiveness, efficiency, safety and environmental compliance – we provide our customers with a better and more robust solution to their tank cleaning needs.
Evergreen offers the latest, most advanced non-entry cleaning technology to protect personnel, control emissions, and increase productivity. Included are automated processes and robotic systems that operate while the tank remains sealed. These devices spray diesel fuel or any other readily available diluent to wash interior surfaces and liquefy sludge for removal. Liquefied material can be heated to improve processing efficiency and productivity.
Our robotic systems include manway canons, drop leg nozzles and robotic crawlers, as well as valve-controlled shell lances. We can gain access to a tank through any available roof or side manway. Evergreen’s automated cleaning devices are controlled by specialists in on-site command centers located a safe distance from the tank.
Our proven experience and success using the most advanced devices and techniques available allows Evergreen to engineer and customize procedures for each project in order to save time, improve productivity and meet unique customer requirements.
TANK SWEEP NOZZLES
Evergreen’s robust capabilities and specialized tank cleaning equipment fleet includes Tank Sweeps. These devices were designed for the de-sludging of storage tanks by the control and circulation of high velocity liquid streams through nozzles fitted to the tank shell via manways or other openings. Tank Sweeps are capable of volumes up to 2,500 gpm at 150 PSI, the nozzles can be utilized below the fluid line to aid in the movement of solids in the tank. Tank Sweeps were designed to provide a safer environment for the operator, with some of the numerous advantages including:
- Eliminating the handling of equipment on floating roofs
- Eliminating the cutting of holes in a tank roof
- Eliminating the use of Nitrogen Purge
WASTE PROCESSING AND MINIMIZATION
Depending on customer requirements, material from a tank is often processed on-site to minimize waste and reduce disposal costs. Evergreen offers a variety of processing techniques. Belt presses and filter presses are used to dewater aqueous sludge, while high volume decanter centrifuges are employed for oily sludge.
High-speed centrifuges used by Evergreen generate a force 2,000 times greater than gravity to separate solids and liquids to produce dry waste for disposal and clarified effluent ready for potential re-use.
Evergreen’s tank specialists have a greater level of expertise that yields exceptional results – keeping a customer’s waste management, transportation and disposal costs to a minimum.
SAFETY AND THE ENVIRONMENT
The hazardous nature of tank cleaning demands the most stringent standards for safety. For Evergreen, safety begins with pre-project planning that includes hazard mitigation steps and continues with API-certified tank entry supervisors, rigorous daily Job Safety Analysis requirements and more. Crew members are trained according to the highest industry standards, including 40-hour HAZWOPER and OSHA training.
Evergreen has an award-winning safety record, including NPRA Contractor Merit Awards, Industrial Safety Training Council Safety Awards, and OSHA Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) Star status.
Evergreen also keeps environmental protection at the forefront of operations. Containment procedures and strict jobsite housekeeping prevent accidental spills. Effective material processing not only reduces waste, but also makes liquid components available for re-use by the plant. Vapor-tight tank cleaning controls emissions, while all degassing and vapor recovery services meet or exceed local, state and federal regulations.
