Evergreen Supports Marines "Toys for Tots"

On November 10, 2011, Jon Hodges, President, and a group of Evergreen employees presented Marine Staff Sergeant Montemayor with a check for $10,204.00 for the Marines "Toys for Tots" charity. The check represented donations by those who participated in Evergreen's "Ride to the Rally" event held on Saturday, November 5, 2011. In addition to cash, over 300 toys were collected and donated to the program. Evergreen has sponsored the "Ride to the Rally" for many years and invites motorcycle enthusiasts to join a police escorted ride from La Porte, Texas to Galveston, Texas to join the Lone Star Rally. This is the first year that Evergreen has chosen to tie a charity to the event and was very pleased with the response.

Michael Haugenater of ExxonMobil commented "Being able to contribute to the Marine's benefit for children was a bonus for us! We look forward to the 'Ride to the Rally' next year!" The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
