ExxonMobil Presents Safety Award to Evergreen

Evergreen Environmental Services, LLC was presented an award for “Outstanding Safety Performance” by ExxonMobil at their Baytown Area Annual Contractor Awards Banquet on March 25, 2010. It was held at Nuevo Leon #2 in Baytown, Texas. The banquet was held on behalf of ExxonMobil Refining and Supply and ExxonMobil Chemical, both in Baytown. Joe Blommaert, the Baytown Chemical Plant Manager, welcomed everyone in his remarks at the start of the dinner. There were Contractor Safety Team & Safety Alliance Awards presented by representatives from ExxonMobil BOP Plant, BT Complex, and Administration.

Including Evergreen, there were over 100 contractor companies in attendance that were recognized for being “injury free” in 2009. Evergreen was represented by Abel Bella, Nina Parker, and Bill Shaw VP of HSE. Account Manager for ExxonMobil for the past ten years, Abel Bella commented on the award, “We have received this award for three years in a row for being injury free. Our safe work ethic has resulted in getting more work. We have two refinery turnarounds coming up in August 2010 for the Baytown refinery and another turnaround at the BOP plant in 2010. Our crews should be commended for their outstanding safety performance.” Abel went on to say, “We work anywhere from two to four jobs per week at the BOP Plant and we get called out routinely for work at the Baytown refinery. Evergreen has provided hydroblasting services, vacuum truck services, chemical cleaning and transportation for ExxonMobil in Baytown.”
