VPP Star Site Awarded to Evergreen Texas City

About 85 people attended the VPP Star Award Ceremony for Evergreen Industrial Services held in Texas City on March 3, 2010. Evergreen customers and employees enjoyed the award ceremony as regional and national OSHA VPP representatives presented the VPP flag and VPP plaque to Jon Hodges, President and CEO.

Jon Hodges, President of Evergreen, had this message for the audience:

"This VPP Star Certification is a true testament to Evergreen Industrial Services Employees. Without the hard work and dedication from all, we would not have achieved this prestigious distinction. Many thanks to all who contributed an enormous amount of effort in our journey to be VPP Star Certified. We want to take this time to say thanks and congratulations."

Presentation of VPP plaque and VPP flag from OSHA was made by Kevin Rockwell, Houston South VPP Coordinator for OSHA. Evergreen was represented by Jon Hodges President, Bill Shaw VP of Health Safety & Environmental, Mark Stoffel Branch Manager for Texas City, and Kevin Edwards. According to the OSHA website "the VPP Star Program is designed for exemplary worksites with comprehensive, successful safety and health management systems. Companies in the Star Program have achieved injury and illness rates at or below the national average of their respective industries"
