Galveston County Proclaims March 2 as "Evergreen Day"

At the February 24th meeting of the Galveston County Commissioners Court, they presented a Resolution congratulating Evergreen for the VPP Star Award from OSHA. Proclamations were read recognizing Evergreen for its excellent safety practices. The County of Galveston proclaimed "Evergreen Industrial Services Day" for March 2. The proclamation read:

Approval into VPP is OSHA's official recognition of the outstanding efforts of employers and employees who have achieved exemplary occupational safety and health and whereas in order to qualify for the VPP Star Award which is only given to those worthy recipient worksites that address unique safety and health issues. Evergreen has become only the second recipient in Galveston County to have won this cherished award. The Commissioner's Court of Galveston County, Texas proclaims March 2, 2010 as “Evergreen Industrial Services Day” throughout all of Galveston County.

Texas City Branch Manager Mark Stoffel and VP of Safety Bill Shaw were proud to accept the resolution plaque from Commissioner Patrick Doyle at the February 24 meeting on behalf of Evergreen.

Evergreen President & CEO Jon Hodges recognized the hard work and dedication of the Evergreen employees to become VPP Star Certified at a VPP Star Award Ceremony held in Texas City on March 3, 2010. Kevin Rockwell, an OSHA VPP representative, presented the VPP flag and VPP plaque to Jon Hodge to an audience of 85 people including Evergreen customers, guests, and employees.
