NPRA Recognizes Evergreen with Safety Awards

NPRA, the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association, presented Evergreen with four safety awards during the 17^th Annual Safety Awards Banquet, held May 13, 2009 at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, Texas. Don Wright, Transportation Safety Coordinator, and Scott Pousson, Safety Coordinator, attended as Evergreen representatives.

The 17th Annual Safety Awards Banquet recognized 83 associate member companies for their excellent safety performance with 392 awards for their efforts in 136 facilities. The presentation of the Safety Awards is part of a comprehensive safety awards program developed by NPRA's Safety & Health Committee to promote accident prevention in refining and petrochemical manufacturing communities, and to publicly recognize the excellent record of operational safety that these companies have achieved.

Bill Shaw, VP HSE for Evergreen, commented on the awards, “The application requirements were based on number of manhours worked and the OSHA incident rate It is an honor to receive these awards as a smaller contractor from this national organization. The recognition in front of refinery owners all over the United States is something to feel very proud about.”

Evergreen was nominated by five plants and won four awards:

• Evergreen Industrial Services at Beaumont Refinery of ExxonMobil Refining & Supply
  Award for Meritorious Safety Performance - 0.0 TRIR for 24,000 hours worked in 2008
• Evergreen Industrial Services at Pasadena Refinery of Pasadena Refining System, Inc.
  Award for Meritorious Safety Performance - 0.0 TRIR for 108,119 hours worked in 2008
• Evergreen Industrial Services at Texas City Plant of Sterling Chemicals
  Award for Meritorious Safety Performance - 0.0 TRIR for 57,421 hours worked in 2008
• Evergreen Industrial Services at Texas City Refinery of BP
  Award for Meritorious Safety Performance - 0.0 TRIR for 46,117 hours worked in 2008

Evergreen has been honored with NPRA awards each year for their safety performance from 2005 to 2008.
