Supervisor of the Year
Mitch Freeman

Mitch has been with Evergreen for almost 3 years. I like everything about working here - best company I have ever worked for. More like working for a family. When asked about getting chosen as "Supervisor of the Year", Mitch said "It's great."

Mitch is currently a supervisor at Valero Refining in Houston. When asked about his crew, Mitch replied "I work with a close knit group of people, like a brotherhood, everyone takes care of each other." Per Mark Stoffel, Division Manager, there's lots of reasons why Mitch was chosen Supervisor of the Year. "He has been managing the Valero account for 18 months with no safety or environmental incidents. Mitch is very dependable, he trains the employees to do the jobs the right way. Along with his success, he brings people up through the ranks. Mitch has a real good rapport with his crews. In 2006, he successfully managed a $2.6 million turnaround."

Driver of the Year
Corey Thompson

Clark Treybig, Manager of Transportation, describes why Corey was chosen as Driver of the Year. "He is my best all around driver, takes care of everything I need, very reliabile, very dependable, and customers like him a lot. Always does a wonderful job." Don Wright, Transportation Safety Corodinator, described Corey as "a model driver for Evergreen, taking pride in his work, and conscientious in his job."

When asked what he likes about Evergreen, Corey said "Everybody has an open door policy. With Jon or Craig, if you have a problem, everyone can sit down and work it out. I like the attitude, the hospitality of the people, and the growth that I have seen. I was the 4th driver, we have made tremendous changes, in growth, and with the equipment.

Corey has been at Evergreen for 4 years. He has been a driver since 1993. Corey states "I started operating tractor trailers in 1993." Corey's reaction upon being told he was chosen Driver of the Year, "Oh, that is exciting" and he had a big smile on his face.

Employee of the Year
Manuel Gonzales

Pat Davis, Operations Manager, explains why he nominated Manuel as Top Employee of the Year. "Manuel came in with no experience about 2 years ago and for the short time he has been here, he has proven he is worthy to do any task he has been given, from technician to moving boxes, to driving roll-off trucks to transportation coordinator at Valero. He deals with customers professionally. He just stands out as a model employee. I wish I could clone him."

Per Mitch Freeman, Supervisor, "Manuel is always on task, stays on top of everything, he remembers PO's like no one else. Manuel gets things done, if you ask him to do something, it gets done. We have worked together for the past year at Valero."

What Manuel says he likes about working at Evergreen, "the people and the equipment, being able to get trained, people treat me right, I enjoy going to work everyday." His reaction upon hearing he was chosen as Top Employee for 2007, "I am ecstatic and overwhelmed that I was chosen over so many other qualified guys, and I thank the Lord for that.
