Evergreen Names New Truck Rodeo Champion

The Truck Rodeo was held on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at San Jacinto College. It was a cool cloudy day, but that did not stop the families from coming out to support their drivers. The children jumped in the moonwalk and shot basketballs. Everyone enjoyed the hot dogs and hamburgers cooked by Pat Davis, RD Russell and Cliff Manous. The judges included DOT officers and driving instructors. The drivers had a full day that included taking a written test, being interviewed by the DOT officers, pre-trip inspection of a truck, and a driving course that included loading and unloading a roll-off box. Door prizes that included gift cards were given out to some lucky attendees. The winning drivers received cash prizes with the top prize being $500.
